Located in North side, Proud Haven’s mission is to provide a safe shelter for homeless LGBTQ+ youth in Pittsburgh. They also provide emotional support and resources to help LGBTQ+ youth develop skills to lead an independent life.

Proud Haven has merged with TransUnited to acquire a new space in North Side which has given both non-profits the opportunity to grow and increase their access to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Proud Haven has been the primary beneficiary from the proceeds from The O’Noir Foundation’s efforts since their first year, raising over $30,000 for them. We believe in Proud Haven’s mission as it aligns closely with ours.

TransYOUniting is a Pittsburgh-based mutual aid nonprofit founded in 2015 with a mission to ensure that Black transgender women and all transgender people don’t just survive but thrive. The organization provides direct support and advocacy for Pittsburgh’s transgender, LGBTQIA+, and HIV-positive communities through programs that address housing insecurity, employment barriers, health disparities, and everyday survival needs. From helping individuals secure safe housing and employment to providing food, transportation, and emergency assistance, TransYOUniting works at the ground level to build a stronger, more equitable community. Beyond aid, the organization pushes for systemic change—advocating for healthcare access, policy reform, and social justice at the intersection of race, gender, and equity. TransYOUniting isn’t about charity; it’s about empowerment, visibility, and the collective strength of a community determined to create a world where everyone can live authentically and with dignity.
